FAQs
What is a riding simulator?
A riding simulator is a computer-controlled training device that realistically replicates the movements of a real horse. It enables effective riding training regardless of the weather, availability of a horse or access to a riding facility, and is ideal for improving riding position, balance, core stability and the use of aids. Its consistent movement patterns allow riders to work specifically on their technique, stability and body control. Modern riding simulators also offer features such as rider position analysis, video recordings and virtual trail rides, making it possible to identify errors and train progress efficiently. The riding simulator is suitable for beginners as well as ambitious recreational and dressage riders.
Who is riding simulator training suitable for?
The riding simulator is suitable for riders of all experience levels — from beginners to ambitious competition and recreational riders across a wide range of riding disciplines. Returning riders and people with physical limitations can also benefit from the safe and individually adaptable training. For children and teenagers, we offer specially tailored lessons designed to improve riding position, balance and body awareness. The full range of simulator functions can be used from a height of approximately 1.40 metres. Younger or smaller children can already take part in basic rider position training and coordination exercises. The maximum weight capacity of the riding simulator is 100 kg.
Does the riding simulator replace a real horse?
No, a riding simulator does not replace a real horse. It is an effective complement to traditional riding lessons and helps riders improve their position, balance, core stability and use of aids in a targeted way. The controlled movement patterns allow technique, body awareness and stability to be trained efficiently without involving a horse. The movement patterns learned can then be transferred directly to riding a real horse.
Is training on the riding simulator safe?
Yes, the riding simulator provides a safe and controlled training environment without the unpredictable risks associated with a real horse. This makes it particularly suitable for beginners, returning riders, people undergoing rehabilitation and anyone who wants to improve their technique, balance and core stability in a safe environment.
What equipment should I bring?
For riding simulator training, we recommend comfortable riding or sports clothing and sturdy footwear with a small heel. Changing facilities are available on-site. For safety reasons, riders under the age of 18 must wear a riding or bicycle helmet and provide a consent form signed by a parent or legal guardian or be accompanied by one. Suitable equipment for the riding simulator, including dressage and jumping saddles as well as reins, is provided by us. Our saddles are optimally adapted to the simulator. By prior arrangement, you may also use your own saddle, such as a Western saddle.
Is riding simulator training also suitable for overcoming trauma?
Yes, riding simulator training can provide support after negative experiences or feelings of insecurity around horses. The safe and controlled training environment makes it possible to rebuild confidence, balance and body awareness step by step — without the additional stress of working with a real horse. The riding simulator can be particularly valuable for anxious riders, returning riders or people who have experienced a fall, helping them regain safety and confidence in the saddle.
